The City of Richmond is a highly developed urban centre, yet there are spots within that seem incongruent to the rest of the cityscape. Many of these areas were abandoned and being temporarily reclaimed by the elements of nature. Some on the other hand represent the often overlooked sectors of the city's economy, while others are dwellings for those who had once played an integral part in turning a rural township into the fourth most populated district of the province. These places, awaiting the take-over from the seemingly unstoppable urban regeneration, together make up an alternative side of today's Richmond that has been forgotten by their passersby.
